LMC FD-18L Freeze Dryer

The LMC FD-18L is a premium, fully automated freeze dryer designed for food, medical, and laboratory use. It removes moisture through a gentle freeze-drying process that preserves product quality. Built with top-grade Japanese components (Mitsubishi, Omron, SMC, Panasonic, Asada), it features high precision temperature and pressure control, robust stainless steel construction, and in-house developed software for reliability and ease of use.

What features set the LMC FD-18L Incubator apart from the rest?

  •  Made from high quality Japanese brand components (Mitsubishi, Omron, SMC, Panasonic). The following components form the backbone of the LMC FD-18L:
    • Omron HMI touchscreen display (Omron NB5Q-series HMI)- this touchscreen display features an intuitive user interface for temperature setpoint setting and data logging.
    • Omron Temperature Controller (Omron E5C-series)– this temperature controller makes use of a smart PID algorithm to reach and maintain the desired temperature setpoint
    • Omron Programmable Logic Controller (Omron CP2E-series)- this is the brain of the machine.  Interacts with the temperatures controller, pressure switch and touchscreen display to handle the automated freeze drying process.
    • Omron Solid State Relay (Omron G3PE-series) – acts like a bridge between the temperature controller and the heating element (the trays are heated to increase the sublimation rate during the freeze drying process). Unlike traditional relays that are noisy and have relatively short lifespan, this Omron SSR will ensure quiet and reliable operation of the machine.
    • Mitsubishi Variable Frequency Inverter (Mitsubishi FR-series inverter)- this efficiently control the speed (and thus the air flow rate) of the blower motor.
    • Omron brand panel lights, switches and circuit breakers – these miscellaneous electrical components are all Omron brand.
    • SMC High-Precision Digital Pressure Switch (ZSE20A-series)- monitors vacuum levels and sends an alert if there is insufficient vacuum
    • Panasonic compressor (QB-series) – reliable compressor that uses safe r134a refrigerant.
    • Asada Vacuum Pump (WV281-series)- capable of moving 226L/min of per minute and reach ultimate vacuum of 15 micron (2.0Pa abs.)
  • Touchscreen display and data logging feature are standard features. The Omron 5.6” color touchscreen display features real-time temperature graphing and data logging. Temperature data (and relative humidity) and the respective timestamp is stored in a removable flash disk. It is stored in excel file format (.xls).
  • Equipped with Inverter Drive (Mitsubishi FR-series variable frequency inverter). This is significantly more energy efficient than other incubators without inverter.  
  • Equipped with Dual temperature controllers (Omron ECN-series). Unlike most laboratory incubations with single controllers, the LMC FD-18L has redundant (dual) temperature controllers which is more robust.
  • Relative humidity sensor is standard. Unlike most freeze dryers which only measures temperature, the LMC FD-18L also measure the relative humidity. The humidity data may also be logged.
  • All SS304 stainless steel body. The whole body (including the outer shell) is made of food-grade SS304 stainless steel. All weld seams are TIG-welded and passivated for enhanced corrosion resistance.
  • LMC Wireless Real-time Monitoring System (WRTMS) is standard.  This is our proprietary android app allow the user to remotely monitor the LMC FD-18L incubator. It has a 32” Sony  color  display (included in the package). In case of power outages or device malfunction, it can alert the user by automatically sending email messages. This would be helpful in preserving critical samples by allowing early intervention.  Moreover, this system features easy-to-understand process diagrams with real-time temperature and vacuum readings. This is helpful in educating students and training operators.
  • Multilanguage support. The touchscreen user interface and product manual supports multiple languages (English, Japanese, Filipino).
  • The machine is built in-house using modern design, precision fabrication, and custom-developed control software. Using the above-mentioned Japanese components, this freeze dryer is assembled in-house with the using the latest of design (computer-aided design, CFD analyses) and fabrication technologies (TIG welding, CNC machining, passivation techniques). The proprietary software (Android, HMI and PLC programs) was also developed in-house.
